Negative taken of Anderson Willis (born 1817 in Alabama, according to the 1900 census) and family standing in front of home in Muddy Fork, Howard County, Arkansas. According to Ruth Polk Patterson in "The Seed of Sally Goon'n, a black family of Arkansas, 1833-1953," the Willis family was one of the ten African American families out of a total of seventy-six families that lived in, Muddy Fork, Howard County, Arkansas in 1900. She also states that by the 1910 census, Anderson Willis is not listed.
